The Milky Way out at Rio
Blanco Canyon just east of Crosbyton was amazing – horizon to horizon! The
genuine tarantula we saw before the night got going was icing on the cake. A
great site with wonderful skies. The girls were inquisitive and well behaved. We
need to do this again.

People,
I know this is short notice, but Don Fritz and I are heading just east of
Crosbyton Sunday at dusk for a star party hosted by Kyle Vernon of Crosbyton
Schools for the Girl Scout Troup there. Anyone who has the time off (or can get
it) and would like to observe at a very dark sky site is welcome to attend.
Binoculars and telescopes welcome. If you’re interested, let me know and I’ll
get you more specifics, but right now just let me know if you can help out. I’ve
asked off Monday morning from work to be able to do this, but it’s a good cause
and looks to be an enjoyable night at a nice, dark sky site.
Thank you,
CDS
